 Macroeconomics Econ 101. Course Description: This class is an introduction to the concepts and tools of Macroeconomic analysis. Topics of study include theories of income determination including national income concepts, Business Cycles, Unemployment, Inflation, Monetary and Fiscal policy, Public Debt, International Trade and Finance. 

Teaching Methods: This class is completely online and I hope that this course will be both an interesting and interactive learning experience for you.  In order to take this course, you must obtain regular access to a computer with a broadband connection to the internet. Although Rio Hondo College offers many computers for student use, it is your responsibility to secure access to a computer and a backup computer with a connection to the web.  Since I will be sending out reminder e-mail messages it is imperative that you regularly check the course.

For each assigned topic  you should read the assigned textbook chapters, and complete any assigned homework exercises. All assignments will be announced/posted on the "Announcements" section of the course website. There is no excuse for missing an assignment!

Assessments.

Exams There will be a midterms and one final exam. Everyone is required to take these  exams. There are NO make up exam. If you miss the midterm I reserve the right to drop you from the course. Course Requirements: Exams: There are Two exams in this class. You are required to take these exams. If you miss an exam you may be dropped!* Each exam is worth 100 points. These exams will be a combination of multiple choice and short answer questions.  45% of your Grade

Online Quizzes The quizzes are drawing Random Multiple Choice questions from the test bank which I will use to create your Exams. You may attempt these quizzes as many times as you wish. Some quizzes will allow you to check your answers. This is the best way to prepare for the exam. In order to prevent you from clicking and taking these quizzes till you have all the questions, the average of your attempt is used to calculate the final score on that chapter quiz.  40% of your Grade

  NOTE: If you bought a textbook at the Rio Hondo Bookstore, your book will come with an access code for flip it.  This is NOT a requirement for this class!
